Tests

Arrangements
Tests will be organized world-wide by authorized computerized testing service agency twice a year, each on the first and second half of the year.
 
Financial Risk Officer® tests are administered full-day, Module I: 9:00-12:00, Module II: 14:00-17:00. 
 
The test for each module takes 180 minutes.
 
Subjects
Module I: 100 multiple choice questions on Regulatory Framework and Standards and Financial Risk Management Practices (about 50% each).
 
Module II: 60 multiple choice questions on Financial Risk Case Studies.

  • CHF 1,850 per test
  • CHF 3,700 in total i.e. for two modules

First time test-takers of Financial Risk Officer® must register for both modules.

 

Unsuccessful test-takers of Financial Risk Officer® can retake the test ONCE within 12 month of initial testing; a re-test application must be submitted; re-test fee for each module is CHF 750.

 

Test-takers should submit postponement application if unavailable for pre-registered testing; registration fee will not be refunded unless under special circumstances.



Certification

Test score requirements
  • Test-takers must score 70/100 on both modules
  • The passing test scores must be obtained within 24 months.
Employment requirements
  • Mid/senior-level position at relevant financial institutions, or
  • Relevant position at financial supervision institutions, or
  • Relevant position in the government, or
  • Relevant position in other organizations: a passing certificate will be issued upon passing the tests, but the Financial Risk Officer® certificate is only granted upon passing the employment assessment and fulfilling the education and work experience requirements.
Education and work experience requirements
  • Test-taker with PhD should have a minimum of three years relevant work experience;
  • Test-taker with Master Degree should have a minimum of six years relevant work experience;
  • Test-taker with Bachelor Degree or equivalent should have a minimum of eight years relevant work experience;
  • For test-taker who do not meet the education and work experience: a passing certificate will be issued upon passing the tests, but the Financial Risk Officer® certificate is only granted upon passing the employment assessment and fulfilling the education and work experience requirements.
